How to learn languages effectively?

Everybody knows that the beginning is the hardest thing. You have absolutely no clue about new language and you're dreaming about fluency. It's really hard to imagine next few years spended with reading books and listening audios, doing grammar exercises and doing many, many mistakes... still over and over.
But, there are a few important things you should know before you start to learn some language.

MOTIVATION. You should have a good motivation. Why do you wanna learn... English, German, Japanese, Chinese etc.? 'Cause of traveling? 'Cause you just like some language? 'Cause you like talking with foreing people? That's a good reason. But never think about language as "I have to learn, because.... of my family or future job" 'Cause you need an inner motivation. Not forcibly trying to like something you just don't like. Say: "I want to learn this language. This is my dream and I'll reach my goal." Think positively.

PERSEVERANCE. This is really good ability, very usefull in whole life. If you are not steady, you're gonna give up soon. If you have feeling, that nothing goes by your imagines, just change a tactic, never give up! Maybe your system of studying is too boring, maybe you should stop and re-decide your goals again. Do not forget, that sustained effort will ALWAY bring some results, soon or later.

REGULARITY. This is not so important for all people, but most of them need to regularity in their life. Especially in studium. Sometimes happen, that begginers start study new language very obsessively and mindlessly, with hope they will soon speak like native. But after some time, they give up effort. The best way is study regulary. For example, everyday for 30 minutes, max.

PRACTICE. That is probably the most important thing. Without practice your language skills are just passive and there will be stagnation soon. You need to read out loud, watch the movies, videos, play games, talk with others - don't worry about mistakes. Mistakes learn you more than you think. Probably you won't do same mistake twice.

REPETITION.  繰り返しは知識の母である。In Japanese it means "Repetition is the mother of knowledge" and it's true. Don't study everyday new and new things, because you'll realise, that many of them dissapeared. Your brain needs to get them to the long-term memory and that will happen just with repetition.

There are few tips how to study effectively and without boring methods, for example trying to translate interesting texts, lyrics (but be carefull, not all song have right grammar), movies, chat, playing games etc.
You can also use internet or mobile applications.
Do not learn word by word, try to learn whole phrases and learn by meanings. It's much more effectively than memorising.
Also for better pronouncation, you can record your voice and listen if your pronouncation and accent is good.

I hope this article help you. And I apologize for mistakes, I'm not native English (as you can see). This is part of my practice too ^^
